Jenipher Carol Tairo

Founder & CEO

Jenipher Carol Tairo is the Founder and CEO of GESGEMO, a passionate and accomplished leader in the field of agriculture. She holds a Master’s degree in Crop Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture, where she honed her expertise and commitment to agricultural development. Jenipher also serves as the Deputy Publicity Secretary of the Crop Science Association of Tanzania (2022–present), further showcasing her dedication to advancing the agricultural sector in Tanzania.

Jenipher has a strong background in leadership, having previously served as the Prime Minister of the Sokoine University of Agriculture Students Organisation (SUASO) during the 2019/2020 academic year. Additionally, she was the Head Girl at Felix Mrema Secondary School, where she demonstrated early leadership potential. Her leadership journey continued through various roles, including school librarian at Tabora Girls High School and leader of several student clubs, such as Malihai Club, Roots & Shoots, PCCB, United Nations (YUNA), Girl Guides, and the AIDS Club.

Driven by her passion for empowering youth, Jenipher authored the book “SOAR: Unlock Your Potential, Get Started, and Keep Up the Pace,” which aims to inspire young people to pursue their dreams and realize their full potential. She has also participated in the National Youth Parliament in 2019, contributing to youth leadership development on a national level. As an Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) alumna, Jenipher continues to support women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.

In addition to her leadership and advocacy, Jenipher is passionate about public speaking, capacity building, farming, writing, and reading. Her diverse interests and experiences reflect her commitment to motivating and inspiring others, especially the younger generation, to excel in their personal and professional lives.

Paul David Kisena

Executive Secretary

Paul David Kisena is a youth advocate serving as the Executive Secretary at GESGEMO. Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology and has built a strong foundation in both technical skills and leadership throughout his career.

Paul served as the Minister of Affiliation for the Sokoine University of Agriculture Students Organization (SUASO) (2019/20), where he played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and building connections within the student body. His leadership and dedication to service have helped establish him as a key figure in the operations of GESGEMO.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Paul is deeply committed to advocating for social causes. He is a recognized ToT (Training of Trainers) Champion, a Gender Champion, and a vocal advocate against sexual harassment. Paul is also the founder of the CAMPUS LIFE Program, a widely popular radio show aired on 101.1 SUAFM, which addresses important issues affecting university students.

Paul’s unique combination of leadership, social advocacy, and technical expertise makes him an invaluable asset to GESGEMO and the wider community. He continues to drive positive change and support the development of young people through his work and passion for social impact

Godwin Matiko

Operational Manager

Godwin J. Matiko is an Operational Manager at GESGEMO. He is a passionate and proactive young leader, lifelong learner, and doer. He holds a B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and is dedicated to helping youth, both boys and girls, in areas of personal development, mindset transformation, mental health, gender equality, and healthy lifestyles.

An award-winning writer, Godwin has also demonstrated exceptional leadership and organizational skills. He served as the Project Administrator for an international project involving 10 African countries, which was financially supported by the United States African Development Foundation (USADF). His expertise extends to financial management, monitoring, and evaluation, making him an asset to any project or initiative.

As a reputable and reliable research assistant, Godwin is committed to pursuing defined goals with purpose and professionalism. He works ethically and is passionate about transferring knowledge and skills to both present and future generations, ensuring a lasting positive impact. His dedication to personal and professional growth, alongside his commitment to empowering youth, makes him an invaluable resource in any field he engages in.

Rose Japhet

Member

Rose Japhet Nanyaro is a Horticulturist and a founding member of GESGEMO. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Sokoine University of Agriculture and has developed a strong passion for promoting sustainable and efficient farming practices in the agricultural sector.

In addition to her academic qualifications, Rose has gained valuable leadership experience, having served as a delegate in the Judicial Organ of the Sokoine University of Agriculture Students Organisation (SUASO) during the 2019/2020 academic year. Her experience has fueled her desire to make a positive impact in her community and beyond.

Rose is also deeply committed to youth empowerment, gender equity, and career guidance. She firmly believes in the power of education to combat poverty and strives to empower young people, particularly in rural areas, to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Through her work with GESGEMO and other initiatives, Rose aims to inspire and support the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

Zakia Seif

Member

Zakia Seif Madongo is an accomplished Occupational Therapist and a founding member of GESGEMO. She holds a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, through which she has gained extensive knowledge and practical skills to enhance the well-being of individuals in her community. Zakia is an ambitious and driven professional with a strong passion for leadership, community development, and improving lives.

Her leadership journey began early at Felix Mrema Secondary School, where she actively engaged as a member of the Students Organization, spearheading and participating in various community outreach programs. This early involvement in social causes ignited her desire to make a meaningful impact in both her local and global communities.

Currently, Zakia works as an Occupational Therapist, where she applies her skills to assist individuals in overcoming physical, mental, and emotional challenges, promoting independence, and improving quality of life. Her expertise in therapy, combined with her leadership capabilities, positions her to make significant contributions to her profession and the broader community.

Beyond her professional career, Zakia is deeply committed to gender equity and youth empowerment. She advocates for equal opportunities and works tirelessly to empower women and youth, believing that education and support can uplift communities and foster sustainable development. Through her work with GESGEMO, Zakia is determined to bring about positive change and inspire the next generation of leaders.
